Troops conducting counter-insurgency operations have arrested a notorious terrorist leader, Abubakar Bawa Ibrahim, also known as Habu Dogo, in Sokoto State, according to Defence Headquarters. Major-General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed Dogo’s arrest in Rumji Village, Illela Local Government Area, describing him as “a wanted terrorist on the watch list of security agencies in both Nigeria and Niger.”
Additionally, seven commanders and operatives of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) were detained in the South-East. Key arrests include Dr. Nnamdi Chukwudoze and Chigozie Ezetoha (aka Chapet) in Anambra State, along with Mrs. Ngozi Chukwuka and Mr. Oyekachi Ohia in Abia State.
Throughout nationwide operations, troops neutralized 187 terrorists and detained 311 criminal elements, while rescuing 147 kidnapped victims.
