According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Centre for Operation Fansan, the operation was launched in response to a distress call from residents and vigilantes in Yar Galadima village. The troops were alerted early on Sunday to an ongoing terrorist attack in the area and swiftly mobilized to provide assistance and restore peace.
During the fighting patrol, the troops encountered terrorists who had set up ambushes at two different locations along the approach to the village. The ambushes were cleared, with several terrorists neutralized, while others managed to escape. The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma also provided close air support, further engaging the fleeing bandits and contributing to the neutralization of additional terrorists.
