Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have reportedly killed at least 61 terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a coordinated military operation in Borno State.

Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a report posted on X on Monday, noting that the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force.

The operation reportedly took place on Wednesday morning in Malam Fatori, when the terrorists attempted to infiltrate the town on foot, deploying armed drones in a bid to breach troop defenses at the 68 Battalion location.

Makama quoted military sources, saying the integration of air and ground manoeuvres ensured that the assailants were fixed, targeted, and neutralised in large numbers.
