The Nigeria Police Command has issued a public appeal for British national Andrew Wynne, who has been declared wanted, to come forward and surrender. This request comes in response to Wynne’s denial of any prior invitations or notifications regarding his wanted status.

On Monday, September 2, the police declared Wynne and his Nigerian associate, Lucky Obiyan, wanted for allegedly conspiring to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Wynne has vehemently denied these accusations and claimed he was unaware of being labeled a fugitive.

Addressing the situation, Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi spoke to journalists at the Force headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. He refuted Wynne’s claims, stating that the Briton had been contacted multiple times and had even ignored an earlier visit to his workshop. “We have made numerous attempts to reach him. We have established that he is involved in criminal activities and have declared him wanted. His accomplices are already facing charges in court. We urge him to come out and face the charges,” Adejobi said.
