Two Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University (ATbU) students have been detained by police in Bauchi State on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, guilty murder, and affiliation with an illegal capitalist organization.
The suspects and their University of Jos graduate accomplice were taken into custody on February 18.
In a statement released on February 23, the command’s spokesperson, Ahmed Wakili, named the suspects as Hoomvez Martins Nyelong, 27, also known as “Slim,” Daniel Audu Adamu, 26, and Maigari Inuwa, 29, also known as “Mega Fashion World.”
Their detention came about as a result of a distress call that a 45-year-old resident of Kuhu village in Durum ward, Bauchi LGA named Abubakar Shehu (pseudonym) made on February 18.
It is said that the aforementioned Shehu found the body of an unnamed young man in a thicket on the borders of Kuhu hamlet.
The man was reportedly declared dead after the Patrol Team transported the body to the ATBU Teaching Hospital in Bauchi.
