According to DSI Abdullahi Isah, the public relations officer for the Nigeria Immigration Service’s Kebbi State Command, two officers who were on duty at the border were killed in an attack by a group of suspected bandits on the brave officers at the entry point in Gari Garba, which is 12 kilometers from Kangiwa town.
The deceased are Garba Haruna Fana (NIS 17796) and Isah Nafui (DSI 34057), who were all buried in accordance with Islamic customs.

He continued by saying that although the command is in mourning for the brave officers who lost their lives, an investigation has been started to find the people responsible for the heinous deed.

He went on to say that the brave officers’ senseless attack and subsequent death will not deter them from carrying out their professional responsibilities of keeping an efficient check on criminal elements at the borders.
