TWO VARSITY STUDENTS FROM KATSINA WERE REPORTEDLY ABDUCTED BY BANDITS.

In Katsina State, two female students from Al-Qalam University were abducted by gunmen who appeared to be bandits.

Habiba Ango Shantali and Maryam Abubakar Musa, the victims, are said to have been kidnapped on Monday, January 15, 2024, while returning to school.

In a statement signed by the Secretary-General, Comr. Mohammmed Ibrahim, Comrade Gambo Idris Shehu, the president of the National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), verified the occurrence.

“We regret to inform the National Executives Council that two of our Niger State students attending Al-Qalam University Katsina were abducted while returning to school,” the statement said.

“Habiba Ango Shantali, a 200-level student in the Political Science department, and Maryam Abubakar Musa, a 400-level student in the Micro Biology department, are the victims; they are both from the Borgu Local Government. May Allah deliver them from those infamous individuals.”
