Uba Sani Rejects Second Chance for Bandits

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has declared that individuals involved in banditry should not be given another opportunity to reintegrate into society, describing them as terrorists responsible for the deaths of innocent people.

Speaking during a recent interview on Channels Television, the governor expressed a firm position on the ongoing security challenges facing parts of the country. He argued that those engaged in acts of terrorism have forfeited any right to leniency because of the harm they have inflicted on communities.

Addressing questions about whether bandits should be allowed a path to reform, Sani stated: “I don’t believe they deserve a second chance because, in my opinion, they are terr%rists. When you call them terr%rists, it means they are people who have k+lled innocent citizens. Certainly, they have no right to live, they must be eliminated.”

The governor maintained that individuals who take innocent lives should face the full consequences of their actions. He stressed that he does not support efforts that would allow such people to return to society after committing serious crimes.

According to Uba Sani, terrorism requires a strong and decisive response from authorities. He argued that the nature of the crimes committed by armed groups leaves little room for rehabilitation or forgiveness.

Reaffirming his position, the governor added: “For me I don’t believe when someone k+lls someone you should just allow him again. When he’s a terr%rist, he’s a terr%rist. In my own opinion they should be k+lled.”

The remarks have added to ongoing discussions about how best to tackle insecurity in Nigeria, with differing views continuing to emerge on whether dialogue, rehabilitation, or military action offers the most effective solution. The comments from Uba Sani underline his belief that a tougher approach is necessary in dealing with armed groups linked to violence and terrorism.
