UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS KILL A FAMILY OF SIX AND INJURE OTHERS IN A BENUE IDP CAMP.

Unknown armed men attacked an IDP camp in Abagena, a suburb of Makurdi metropolis in Benue State, on Thursday night, killing a man, his wife, their four children, and others.

Catherine Anene, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the attack but said she had not yet received details on the casualties.

According to our source, the majority of those killed in the attack were women and children.

According to a source who did not want his name printed, eight bodies have been recovered so far, with many others injured as a result of the attack.

“We are still combing the bushes for the missing persons, but eight corpses have been recovered and eight others who are seriously injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment,” he said.

“The number of casualties is likely to rise because other people who were fatally shot in the chest may not survive the injuries.”
