Update: Bauchi Islamic Cleric Release After One Week – DSS

A Bauchi=based Islamic Cleric, Ustaz Idris Abdulaziz detained by the Department of Security Service (DSS) has been freed. He was freed Friday, a week after he was allegedly invited by the Bauchi DSS office and later taken to Abuja. Sources close to the Islamic Cleric confirmed his released Friday morning. One of his students, Mallam Ya’u Idris disclosed to our reporter on telephone earlier Friday that Mallam Idris Abdulaziz was released. “Yes, he was released. We have already arrived Bauchi and he is at home now. He is currently with some visitors,”he said. The student however did not disclose why the Islamic Cleric was taken to Abuja and detained by the DSS.
