Lagos State Government has debunked reports which state that the state experienced another collapsed building on 57, Egerton Square, Oke Arin area on Lagos Island collapsed, yesterday.

According to the General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Adesina Tiamiyu, no building collapsed in Lagos Island, yesterday.

He said what happened was the demolition of a building by the Lagos State Building Control Agency, (LASBCA) on Egerton Square.

LASBCA officials present at the scene also stated thst there was no collapsed building and that they were only pulling down a structure which led to the injury of a scavenger who was trying to pick something.

“The four scavengers sustained minor injuries and had been taken to the nearest hospital before the arrival of the Lagos Response team (LRT), LASEMA said on its Twitter handle.
