Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) have finally agreed to adopt aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Seyi Makinde, for the March 9 governorship election.
The Directors-General of the campaign organisations of the parties involved in the coalition confirmed the decision on Monday, saying that details will be provided later.
Reports say a formal announcement and unveiling of the coalition will be made on Tuesday at a press conference.
Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that SDP, AD had adopted the PDP’s candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
With the ADC and ZLP, the number of opposition parties in the coalition are now officially five with the inclusion of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the PDP.
The agreement was expected to have been reached on Saturday but the ADC and ZLP were said to still be in consultation with their party stakeholders.
Only the SDP and AD confirmed their status in the coalition being built in order to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) which past Thursday succeeded in snatching one of the champions of the coalition, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala of the Action Democratic Party (ADP)
