On Monday, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, officially welcomed Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite as the new Minister of State for Finance at the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters in Abuja. The event, attended by top management including Permanent Secretary Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, signaled a renewed commitment to driving economic reforms within the ministry.

In his opening remarks, Edun expressed enthusiasm for Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s arrival, praising her dedication to realizing the policy objectives of President Tinubu’s administration. He noted the strategic importance of having a Minister of State and highlighted Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s expertise as vital for supporting ongoing economic initiatives.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite responded with gratitude, promising to work closely with Edun, with whom she has previously collaborated. She thanked President Tinubu for the appointment and affirmed her commitment to advancing his mandate in the financial sector.

The Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Jafiya, assured attendees that the ministry would continue to foster an enabling environment for the effective implementation of government policies aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The gathering also included notable figures such as Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), as well as various directors and staff from the ministry. Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations, remarked that Dr. Uzoka-Anite’s appointment heralds a new chapter in Nigeria’s economic transformation, positioning the Finance Ministry to enhance growth, productivity, and equitable development.
