Chelsea and Vasco da Gama have reached an agreement for the transfer of Brazil Under-20 international Andrey Santos, the Brazilian club announced on Friday.
The 18-year-old, regarded as one of Brazil’s brightest prospects, will be Chelsea’s third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of David Datro Fofana from Molde FK and Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco.
Santos, a central midfielder, was a key player for Vasco da Gama in Brazil’s second division last season, scoring eight goals in 33 league games and assisting the club’s promotion to the top flight.
Chelsea is tenth in the Premier League with 25 points after 17 games and will play Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday.
