In a popular video, Machalla Baleri, a well-known terrorist leader, can be seen showing off stacks of fresh naira notes amid a shortage of the currency.

Banking halls at several commercial banks in Lagos, Osun, Ekiti, and other regions of the nation saw little activity as irate clients turned to alternative methods of cash withdrawal as a result of the dearth of naira notes in the banks.

Due to the lack of money in bank vaults, most banking halls were empty when our correspondents checked, but big crowds had gathered outside the few banks that were rumored to be getting ready to load their ATMs.

However, the bandit commander asserted that he had run out of the new naira notes in an unconfirmed video that was posted online on Wednesday.

In the two minutes and 20 second video clip, Baleri claimed to have up to N10 million in the new naira notes. He talked in the Hausa language.

Additionally, he asserted that he had enough fresh naira notes to buy more firearms.

Details to come…
