  • Madrid seal third straight La Liga win with 2-1 victory
  • Güler nets equalizer before Vinícius delivers decisive strike
  • New signings Huijsen, Alexander-Arnold, and Carreras play key roles

Real Madrid maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season on Saturday, rallying from behind to defeat Mallorca 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Vedat Muriqi stunned the hosts in the 18th minute, muscling past Dean Huijsen to redirect Pablo Torre’s corner into the net with his shoulder. But Huijsen quickly redeemed himself, heading a set-piece across goal for Arda Güler to smash home the equalizer in the 37th minute.

Just a minute later, Vinícius Júnior put Madrid ahead, cutting inside after a Mallorca giveaway in midfield and firing past the keeper for his second goal of the season.

The visitors threatened in a lively second half, but Madrid’s summer signings stood firm. Trent Alexander-Arnold made a crucial sliding interception to deny Sergi Darder’s pass, while Álvaro Carreras produced a vital block on a fierce Samu Costa strike.

Kylian Mbappé, already with three goals this season, had two strikes ruled out for offside, while Rodrygo came off the bench amid speculation linking him with a Premier League move.

The win gives Xabi Alonso’s side three victories from three matches to start their league campaign.
