  • Resit exams scheduled for January-February 2025
  • Open to candidates with failed or canceled results
  • Online registration via WAEC website or accredited centers

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has introduced a groundbreaking initiative allowing candidates to resit their West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) papers earlier than ever. Starting in 2025, students can retake their exams between January 24 and February 15.

This development marks a departure from previous years, where candidates had to wait for the next private exam cycle. The Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, disclosed this update.

“Candidates who check their results and discover the need to retake one or two subjects have until January 8 to register online via our website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés,” Kapi explained.

He further noted that students with canceled results due to malpractice can also participate in the WASSCE PC1 exams, provided they are not under a ban.

This move by WAEC aims to provide a timely solution for candidates to address academic setbacks and continue their educational pursuits without delay.
