Eden Hazard, a forward for Real Madrid, claims that he is “trapped in a spiral” and that only playing time with the European champion can help him escape.
But, since the World Cup, the 32-year-old hasn’t played a single minute for Madrid in La Liga or the Champions League.
Hazard had a remarkable career with Chelsea, scoring 110 goals in 352 games in all competitions and winning Player of the Year four times. He signed a record-breaking contract with Real Madrid in 2019 and still has one year left on his agreement.
I know I won’t be scoring five goals in my first game, but playing time is the only thing that can pull me out of this spiral.
In an interview with Belgian television, the footballer admitted that he doesn’t speak with Carlo Ancelotti.
“I want to stay here and disprove people’s claims that I can’t still play football.”
Even though some of his teammates were encouraging him to leave Real, Hazard declared that he intended to stay and would not leave during the upcoming transfer window.
Hazard, who retired from international football with Belgium following the World Cup, stated, “I’m not looking for a whole game, I just want to feel helpful.
