Since President Buhari signed the Bill on Proceeds of Crime Recovery Management into law earlier this year, the Nigerian government claims to have recovered at least N120 billion as proceeds from criminal financial transactions.

At a news conference held on Wednesday in Abuja, the Minister of Environment delivered the ministry’s scorecard for the Buhari administration. The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the announcement.

He said that the money was utilized to help build the second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan, and the Abuja-Kano expressways. “I can attest that the Federal Government has so far earned about N120 billion from POCA, among other currencies. The Second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kano expressways, and other crucial ongoing infrastructure projects in the nation will all be completed with the help of this funding. We’ll keep you informed on this, he said.
