Manchester United board have assured manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that the club will make a minimum of three signings this summer transfer window.
Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils’ hierarchy made the promise to Solskjaer after their Champions League quarter-final 3-0 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday.
Two goals from Lionel Messi and a strike from Philippe Coutinho ensured the La Liga champions dumped Man United out of the Champions League.
Speaking after Man United’s 3-0 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday night, Solsjkaer admitted that Man United have a big rebuilding job on their hands ahead of next season.
He said: “We know there’s work to be done. I’ve said all along that this isn’t going to change overnight.
“The next few years are going to be massive for us to get to the level that Barcelona and other teams are at.”
Solskjaer’s men will now tackle Everton in their next fixture in the Premier League on Sunday
