Nigeria’s Vice-President, Yemi Osinbanjo, and his United States equivalent, Mike Pence, discussed economic ties between Africa’s most populous nation and the superpower.

Concise News learned that the two leaders also talked about acquisition of arms and ammunition to tackle Boko Haram in Nigeria’s northeast region

They met on Wednesday at the White House in Washington DC.

“We discussed a wide range of issues from our economy and ways in which investors could participate effectively in the economy. We also talked about security. Ways in which we could work together on some of the threats, especially in the Sahel,” he told Channels TV.

“What we are working on at the moment is cooperation that has been on for a while so the whole point of it is to see how to bring several of those things to fruition.

“We discussed cooperation on the supply of arms and ammunition which the US has worked with us on and we think we are moving in the right direction. They are happy to work with us on it.”
