Atunyota Akpobome, nicknamed Ali Baba, a well-known comedian, has claimed that when he earned N1.6 million from a concert in 1996, his wife thought he was engaging in fraud.
The comedian added, “The first thing you must know is that Lagos is a center for greatness,” on December 15, 2022, during an Instagram live session with a TV personality named Morayo Afolabi-Brown. Simply remain where you are if you are not bringing that to the table.
It implies that when you visit Lagos, people will expect you to give your best performance. Because of the service we offer, people call us (comedians) to perform at their gatherings. There are many who will criticize us if the service is subpar.
The comedian also mentioned how people of the state’s income levels would be impacted by Lagos’ expansion. He asserted, “Our ability to earn more money would increase if Lagos keeps expanding. I recall arriving in Lagos and making between 500 and 1000 Naira. However, the value given to the service I provided rose. Guinness gave me N1.6 million in 1996 to publicize one of their brands, Satzenbrau. We traveled pretty much the entire nation. My wife believed I had engaged in advance fee fraud when the money first arrived (into my account).
