Tunji Wusu –

According to his Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, President Bola Tinubu would announce his ministerial nominees when they are prepared.

As soon as the President is prepared. Alake informed State House reporters on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that they would be the first to learn about his plans.

In response to a query over the rumored list in the media, Alake stated that Tinubu would reveal the list of nominees when he is fit and prepared.

“About the ministerial list, the plain fact is that this is an executive presidency,” he remarked. We don’t have a parliamentary government.

The President then decides when it is suitable and proper for him to make his cabinet list once the money stops on his table.

“We are aware of all the media rumors, innuendos, and suspicions, among other things. Now, as a media professional, I giggled to myself that individuals simply fabricate in order to sell. None of those statements are true in the slightest. You will be the first to learn about the President’s plans when he is prepared and ready.

Tinubu was still inside the 60-day window for the President and all governors to announce their respective Ministers and Commissioners, according to the presidential adviser.

Alake, who was then the President-elect’s Special Adviser, stated in March that Tinubu will convene his cabinet within one month of taking office.

According to Alake, this is in accordance with the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, which requires that presidents-elect and governors-elect submit the names of their ministerial and commissioner nominations for Senate or state House of Assembly confirmation within 60 days of taking the oath of office.

He continued, “I told you in an earlier interview that Asiwaju formed his cabinet as governor in no more than three weeks.

“At the time, that was. Even 60 days seems excessive to me.

“Any serious government can form its cabinet and establish a functioning government after the oath of office in no more than a month.”
