Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, has outlined the reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari did not become involved in the messy Adamawa gubernatorial election.
On Wednesday, April 19, the minister told reporters at the State House in Abuja that President Buhari did not become involved in the Adamawa State election crisis because he does not micromanage any government institutions.
According to him, INEC is in charge of handling the violation committed by Mallam Hudu Yunusa Ari, the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).
He said that he was unaware that a petition had been sent to Buhari requesting that Ari be dealt with, despite the fact that Ari works for the election commission.
Recall that Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, the APC candidate, was pronounced the winner by Yunusa-Ari even though the results of the just completed Adamawa governorship supplemental poll had not yet been released.
