  • The FCT Minister reflects on his 14-year use of the symbol of power.
  •  Governor vows to continue targeting his adversaries with his “red biro.
  •  Wike and Fubara exchange jabs over the controversial red biro claims.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara’s threat to keep using his “red biro” to target his enemies. Wike mocked Fubara’s boast, reminding him that he’s been wielding the same red biro for 14 years.

Fubara had made the vow during the 2025 New Year’s church service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Opobo Town, stating, “The red biro is still filled. It’s still with me. Every enemy plan will continue to crash.”

However, Wike, through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, dismissed the claim, highlighting that Fubara has only been using the red biro for two years. Olayinka took to X, stating, “Someone who has only used the red biro for less than two years is boasting. Shouldn’t he remember that someone has been using the same biro for 14 years?”
