- Calls for Community Support for Transformative Infrastructure
- Says Performance Evaluation Lies with Presidential Monitoring Team
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that the government will follow due process in handling property removals for road expansion projects in Abuja.
Speaking on Monday after inspecting the Judges’ Quarters in Katampe District and nearby access roads, including the Shehu Shagari Expressway interchange, Wike emphasized that affected property owners would receive fair compensation.
“We will ensure all relocations and compensations are conducted properly,” the minister stated, urging residents to support the initiative, which he described as transformative for the community.
“Look at the progress so far. When completed with streetlights, it will greatly enhance the area,” Wike added.
On assessing his tenure as minister, Wike deferred to the Presidential Monitoring Team, saying, “They are responsible for evaluations. Personally, I’m satisfied with the strides we’ve made in the FCT.”
