Barivure Fred Kpakol has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Environment and Waste Management by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.

This information was provided in a statement made to journalists on Tuesday in Abuja by the director of press in the FCT minister’s office, Anthony Ogunleye.

According to the statement, Kpakol will have a special chance to support the long-term growth and environmental enhancement of the FCT.

It further stated that the FCTA’s dedication to tackling environmental problems and waste management difficulties in the nation’s capital is demonstrated by his appointment.

According to the announcement, Kapakol has held a number of positions with great responsibility during his illustrious career, displaying his aptitude and commitment to public service. He has held a number of notable posts, including Rivers State Commissioner for Agriculture, where he excelled from 2019 to 2023 and made a significant contribution to the growth of the state’s agriculture.

Between 2015 and 2019, he served as the state’s commissioner of finance, in charge of managing its financial issues. He served as vice chairman of the PDP in the Rivers South-East Senatorial Zone from 2013 to 2015, demonstrating his dedication to the political system and party growth.

“State Secretary of Rivers State Chapter of ALGON,” a noteworthy position he held from 1999 to 2002, demonstrating his expertise in managing local governments.

According to the release, Michael Chinda has been appointed as the senior special assistant for land, urban, and regional planning by the FCT minister.

It declared that the development of every city depends heavily on land and urban planning.

According to the statement, Chinda was a Senior Lands Officer at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing from 1989 to 2004. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers.

In addition, from 2008 to 2010, he served as the Obio Akpor Local Government Council’s secretary. From 2011 until 2023, he served as a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

“Chinda is well-equipped to address the complexities and challenges associated with these areas because of his extensive experience and academic background.”
