Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann said injured star forward Sadio Mane will “come back a bit earlier” and could play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16.

Nagelsmann told reporters on Thursday from Bayern Munich’s winter training camp in Qatar that Mane was progressing faster than expected.

“He (Mane) is a vital player. “If everything goes well, he might be there against Paris,” Nagelsmann said. “However, we’ll see. In my mind, I’m not expecting him to play in the first game against Paris.”

Mane has six goals and three assists in the league since joining Bayern from Liverpool in the summer.
