After winning the European Championship against Germany last year, several members of the England squad were named to the FIFA The Best Awards for Women nominee list.
Beth Mead, Leah Williamson, and Kiera Walsh, three members of that team, have been nominated for the best player award. Ada Hegerberg, Alexia Putellas, and Vivianne Miedema, winner of the Women’s Super League twice, are among the favorites.

Wiegman is vying for the title of best coach.
Sarina Wiegman became The Lionesses’ first female team manager to win a trophy. She was also the first manager in history to win the European Championship with two different teams, the Netherlands (2017) and England (2018). (2022).
As a result, the Dutch mastermind is one of the favorites to win the best coach award. Another favorite on the shortlist is Sonia Bompastor, who led her team to a UEFA Women’s Champions League victory over Barcelona.
