On Monday, the Kwara Government ordered that every employee in the state have their workweek shortened from five to three days.
This, according to the government, comes after the skyrocketing increase in transportation costs.
This information may be found in a statement made in Ilorin by Murtala Atoyebi, the governor’s chief press secretary.
Mrs. Susan Oluwole, the State Head of Service, thereafter gave instructions to all MDAs to quickly devise a format outlining the alternate workdays for each employee under them.
Oluwole claimed that the government has implemented a short-term solution to lessen the strain on the state’s public employees.
She added that it was a part of efforts to lessen the hardships faced by state employees as a result of the Federal Government’s elimination of fuel subsidies.
She emphasized that her office will step up its routine supervision of MDAs to guarantee rigorous compliance, but she also cautioned the staff not to abuse the governor’s goodwill.
