Yobe flood kills two people after heavy rainfall swept through Malari, Pompomari and surrounding communities in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State on Sunday.
The deaths were confirmed by the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in a Flash Flood Incident Report.
The victims were identified as Isa Haruna, 38, a security personnel attached to Mallam Matari, and Abba Kyari, 18, who reportedly drowned in the Pompomari area.
Following the incident, the Yobe SEMA Search and Rescue Team worked with the State Fire Service in Damaturu to respond to the emergency.
When rescue officials arrived at the scene, they found both victims dead. Authorities then recovered their bodies and moved them to the mortuary at the General Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Damaturu.

SEMA has urged residents to take precautions as the rainy season continues.
The agency particularly warned parents and guardians to watch their children closely because schools are currently on vacation.
SEMA also advised residents to avoid flooded roads and waterways. It warned people against allowing children to go near rivers, culverts and other dangerous water channels.
Residents have also been told to report emergencies to the agency as soon as possible.
In addition, SEMA urged communities to clear blocked drainage channels. It also asked residents to remain alert to official weather warnings.
During flooding, the agency advised residents to move to higher ground and avoid contact with floodwater that could be contaminated.
However, authorities have not yet released an estimate of the property damage caused by the Yobe flood kills two incident in the affected communities.
The incident highlights the dangers that sudden heavy rainfall can create, particularly in areas with exposed drainage channels and waterways.
Residents are therefore being encouraged to take flood warnings seriously and act quickly when water levels begin to rise.
