Dr. Tony Nwoye, a Labour Party (LP) candidate for Anambra North, has urged young people to participate in the electoral process so they can choose their own leaders following the general election in 2023.
He emphasized the need of people obtaining permanent voter identification cards (PVCs), claiming that the campaign on social media was distinct from living out their aspirations by voting.
Former NANS president Nwonye gave a speech while signing a peace agreement in Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government, to show his support for a fair and peaceful election.
He stressed the importance of encouraging, involving, and empowering youngsters and people with disabilities in order to create a peaceful country by saying that this was his main area of interest.
He grieved that young people wasted their energy on vices and excesses rather than using it to pursue exciting new experiences.
According to Nonso Orakwe, the Executive Director of Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOI), the visit was made in order to work with the candidate to promote a fair and credible election in his zone.
“CATYCOI is a youth-led organization devoted to advancing democracy and good governance.
We are here to help you pledge to hold a peaceful election and to promote the goals of young people, women, and people with disabilities (PWDs),” he stated.
