Separation in the Oyo State chapter of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) as some Chieftains and Candidates of the party declared their supports for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
The state chairman, Comrade Wole Abisoye, Mrs Monisola Tegbe, ZLP Leader in Ibadan North East, Mr Semiu Oladimeji Alao who contested for the Ibadan North East/South East Federal House of representatives seat, Mr Remi Olajide who contested for the Oyo South Senatorial District seat and his counterpart, Chief Olaniyan also contested for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat and Chief Mrs Ayoka Lawani, who contested for Oyo North Senatorial District seat pledged their support and loyalty for APC’s Bayo Adelabu.
The Premier News reported that the ZLP governorship candidate alongside former governor Rashidi Ladoja had adopted the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
“There is no deceit in the promise. What we need to do as a people is to queue behind, support Adelabu to realise his ambition because that is the opportunity we have towards making Oyo state an envy of all.
“Our decision to support Adelabu was purely based on our firm conviction of his ability and capability”, a source told Mega Icon.
The meeting which had in attendance key members of Chief Bayo Adelabu team was held at Base One, Jericho in Ibadan, and the Oyo state capital on Monday.
