Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and PDP presidential candidate, received an apology from Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum after his convoy was recently ambushed by as-yet-unidentified hoodlums when he was campaigning in Maiduguri.

The governor said the All Progressives Congress, or APC, will work to ensure that no opposition parties gain any seats in the upcoming general elections in 2023.

At the inauguration of Chairmen, Secretaries, and more than 800 members of the Campaign Council at the Government House in Maiduguri, the Governor addressed party supporters and stakeholders.

He declared, “It is funny when I discover that some people who had avoided Borno for the past four years have begun to swarm here to seek our people’s votes in the upcoming general elections on the banners of various opposition parties, particularly the dying PDP.

“I want to announce that the current All Progressives Congress, APC, would ensure that no opposition party wins any units in the upcoming general elections in 2023, under my leadership.

HOURS AFTER HIS INAUGURATION, GOVERNOR ADELEKE DEPOSES 3 MONARCHS AND DISMISSES 12,000 OSUN EMPLOYEES.

In fact, it is disheartening that some candidates for elective positions on the platform of the state’s dying Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are now smuggling about N500,000 or N600,000 into Maiduguri and causing trouble by running smear campaigns against our progressive party while forgetting that Borno is APC.

“I want to say that the APC is not afraid of any opposition party, given that the state government, under my capable leadership, has done fantastically well in the last three years in terms of security, job creation, youth and women empowerment, as well as reconstruction, rehabilitation, and resettlement of millions of internally displaced people, or IDPs, back to their places of origin.

However, I would like to use this chance to apologize to Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and PDP presidential candidate, whose convoy was recently attacked in Maiduguri while he was campaigning there.
