2023: Tinubu’s wife implores Nigerian women to vote for the APC

Oluremi Tinubu, a senator for Lagos Central, has urged women in the nation to support the Tinubu-Shettima ticket in the next 2023 presidential election.

At the launch of the Women Wing of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, she made the call.

If elected, Tinubu and Shettima would protect the rights of women and ensure their interests, she reassured the women’s community.

She stated in her speech that the APC will prioritize the interests of women since it was gender aware.

“Wonderful things happen when women come together, and I have enormous confidence in the potential of the fantastic team assembled here today to secure the vote of the women for APC,” she added.

She also expressed gratitude to the various women’s organizations within the party for supporting Tinubu’s presidential bid.

“I want to congratulate all the women’s organizations in particular for being active even before it was clear that Asiwaju would win the primary election. I thank you all for your unwavering support and unwavering faith in the prospects of a Tinubu/Shettima presidency, from our market women’s groups to our young women’s groups, to our interreligious groups to those made up of current and former female government officials, and other classifications too numerous to mention.

Senator Tinubu urged those in attendance to inform voters of Tinubu and Shettima’s accomplishments and said the women’s campaign would soon launch in other areas and states.

“I kindly request that everyone of you step up efforts to mobilize women in your various spheres and get ready to receive us in your states and zones as part of our campaign operations. I implore you to collaborate with other qualified women who are not present with us today as part of the campaign team but who nonetheless possess the drive, expertise, network, assets, and dedication necessary to mobilize women for the next elections.

“Let’s inform our female voters that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket is the greatest choice for them because both men have a history of demonstrating sensitivity to gender issues and dedication to the advancement of Nigerian women. Nigerian women can be confident that their rights and interests would be upheld with these two guys in charge of the country’s affairs. In addition, Hajiya Nana Shettima and I are here to work with you to advance. We are here for you, she assured.
