Babatunji Wusu –

At its Rivers State Command, the Nigeria Immigration Service, or NIS, has decorated 98 recently promoted senior and middle cadre officials.

After their orientation and convocation at the command, 54 recently recruited personnel were also inducted by the NIS.

There are 55 men and 43 women among the recently decorated officers.

Assistant Comptroller General Sunday James, the Comptroller of the Rivers State Command, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, among others, for the promotion in a statement released on Tuesday.

He explained that the promotion process was a welfare program meant to encourage the police to work more.

“As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected,” he remarked. Within the parameters of their service requirements, the officers are prepared, willing, and able to perform all of the responsibilities assigned to them.
