Kano state Commissioner for Information comrade Mohammed Garba has condemned what he described as “the negative spin of promoters of disaffection on the social media during and after the just concluded Kano rerun

According to him, “the just concluded Kano rerun was peacefully conducted with minor incidences in some places and that the security agencies had stepped up effort in containing unpleasant situation that could lead to breach of peace.”
He pointed out that with the heavy presence of heavily armed security men, the possible of witnessing ugly incidents had been nipped in the bud and that eligible voters were allowed into respective polling units without impediment; and positing that pictures being posted on Social Media platform depicting a man with blood gushing out of his body was grossly mischievous and a cruel hoax.
He called on the media to be circumspect in reporting events relating to the just concluded rerun election for peace and harmony to prevail warning that inflame passion would be inimical to the quest for entrenching a lasting peace in the aftermath of the peaceful election.
