Court remands 40-year-old information investigator for assaulting minors

A 40-year-old man named Francis Amanze was remanded to the Kirikiri Correctional Center on Wednesday after being charged with raping two children who were nine and ten years old.

In lieu of accepting Mr. Amanze’s plea, the magistrate, B. O. Osunsanmi, ordered his detention until October 31 while he awaited the Director of Public Prosecutions’ opinion.

Data analyst Mr. Amanze dwells in Lagos’s Iba Housing Estate.

Raji Akeem, the prosecutor, had informed the court that Mr. Amanze committed the crime in July at his home while taking summer coaching lessons.

Akeem emphasized that the offense broke Lagos State criminal laws.
