The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in conjunction with Stakeholders in Sports, hereby relists the following Para Sports to the National Sports Festival in Delta State in response to the action made to remove Para Sports from the 21st NSF: The Deaf Sports of Athletics, Table Tennis, Powerlifting, and (Athletics and Table Tennis).
The Ministry does, however, want to make it clear that their activities would only be held in arenas where Nigeria has a competitive advantage.

The National Sports Festival has evolved into the Flagship Games for the identification, development, and empowerment of our young athletes, therefore this choice was made with the general development of sports in Nigeria in mind.
The Ministry denounced the actions of some misguided athletes who engaged in uncalled-for protests and extortion without following the proper procedures.
These activities, especially in light of the recent public endorsement of Team Nigeria’s outstanding performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which disturbed public harmony and damaged sportsmen and women’s good reputations, are a violation of our sports ethics code.
The Ministry added that athletes must learn to adhere to the established procedures for resolving disputes and that it will enforce the regulations in dealing with such activities in due course.
