The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has the support of baales and family heads (Mogajis) in Ibadanland.
They claimed that aside from being a Yoruba man, Tinubu stands out from the competition for the position due to his heritage and antecedents.
While the President of the Association of Ibadan Mogajis, Asimiyu Ariori, led the Mogajis, the Baales were led by their chairman, Elder Taye Ayorinde.
They claimed they supported Tinubu because they thought he would effectively advance Ibadan’s and Yorubaland’s overall development.
They insisted that Tinubu will overcome Nigeria’s problems and restore its greatness if elected.
“SERAP adds that ASUU recently concluded its eight-month strike as a result of Court of Appeal interventions, which confirmed a prior ruling from the National Industrial Court N Southwest will give Tinubu 15 million votes, according to the chairman of Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 (SWAGA), Hon. Oyetunji Ojo. He claimed that this is possible by organizing the populace at the grassroots in the appropriate way.
He claimed that Olubadan, who sent a delegate to convey his message at the gathering, commanded over 10,000 Baales, Mogajis, and kings throughout Ibadanland to sign petitions and express interest in supporting the APC candidate.
He did, however, note that Tinubu is the front-runner even though Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is not a minor contender.
The Chief Host, Engr Dotun Sanusi, warned Nigerians not to fall prey to religious fanaticism and claimed that Tinubu is not one.

He asserted: “Tinubu is the best candidate for the position; we don’t mind if they label us militants as a result. If elected, Tinubu is the only candidate I can confidently say will meet the requirements of the people of Ibadan and the Yoruba people as a whole. We all here have spoken, and we support Asiwaju’s mandate, so I wasn’t speaking alone.
