Nigerian student who abandoned school jailed for thirteen years for smuggling cocaine into Northern Cyprus

Chinedu Ogugua Bosah, a Nigerian, was found guilty of importing cocaine into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and was given a 13-year prison term (TRNC)

According to President Fadl Aksun, who read the decision on Wednesday, “The legislator prescribes a prison sentence of up to 18 years for the most severe type of case in which the accused is convicted.” Aksun also emphasized that the drugs imported by the accused and kept in his possession are of the cocaine type and are among the dangerous drugs in Class A.

He claimed that Chinedu was only a messenger, thus the lighter penalty. “The defendant in front of us is acting as a courier. This function necessitates that the defendant import the allegedly unlawful substance on his own dime. Regarding serious crime, it should be given priority.
