Benue residents should expect public safety and food security if Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is elected.
This pledge was made by Obi during his presidential campaign, which was conducted in Makurdi, the capital of the Benue state, at IBB Square.
The Labour Party candidate stated that his administration will increase state productivity through a purposeful strategy to increase food production.
Speaking during the gathering, He-man Hembe, the Labour party’s candidate for governor in the state, urged Obi to look into the attacks by suspected herdsmen that had caused nearly two million people to be displaced and numerous fatalities.
Obi bemoaned the fact that the Federal Government just made platitudes about stopping the ongoing killings in Benue.
Speaking about a public service-based economy, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi’s running mate, said the Obi administration will demonstrate innovative strategies for luring investors.
Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, made a comment that resonated with the crowd when he said that it was time to change all the poor purchases Nigerians have been making.
