Mr. Casmir Agbo, the chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, has stated that the chapter is awaiting instructions from the party’s national office before holding a new gubernatorial primary.
In response to a recent Abuja Court ruling that ordered a new gubernatorial primary while rendering judgment in a suit brought by Mr. Everest Nnaji challenging the selection of Mr. Chijioke Edeoga as the LP candidate, he made this statement on Monday in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.
He stated, “We are anticipating instructions from our national office to organize a new primary as required by the Court.
A lawyer named Agbo stated that the party’s legal team is reviewing the verdict and will proceed “as soon as we receive directive.”
He advised the supporters of the labor party in the state to maintain their composure and concentration as the party is primed to win the state in the 2023 election.
No amount of distractions will be able to stop a moving train, he said, accusing the opposition Labour Party of trying to be distracted by the ruling PDP. (NAN)
