West African Ceramics Limited sent the Kogi State Government N13 million worth of emergency supplies on Monday, and they were grateful for the kind gesture.

When accepting supplies for the State Government at the Ministry of Environment’s offices, Mrs. Margret Akuh, the Acting Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, highlighted the flood of 2022 as one that hit the State hardest.

The cooperation from business groups in reducing the effects of the flood is a good development as it would complement the efforts of the State Government, she said, adding that the current government is working hard to do so.

Mrs. Margret remarked that the generosity from West African Ceramics Limited Ajaokuta should be imitated and gave the assurance that the relief supplies will be sent to the nine affected LGAs decimated by the flood and utilised for the objectives intended.

Abdulraheem Bello, Human Resources Manager at West African Ceramics Limited, Ajaokuta, gave a speech in which he estimated the cost of the relief supplies given to the state government at N13 million, noting that another set of supplies worth M4.5 million had been distributed to eight flood-affected communities in the Ajaokuta LGA.

The WACL representative noted the enormous damage caused by this year’s flood and claimed that the need to support the State Government’s efforts was prompted by the knowledge that, in such circumstances, all hands should be on deck to support the government and those impacted by the natural occurrence.

The flood caused severe damage to farmlands, properties, and the loss of several lives, leaving the state as one of the most devastated in all ramifications, the WACL noted while applauding the proactive measures the current administration has taken to mitigate the unquantifiable damages done to the State and people by the flood.

While expressing condolences to those who lost their lives and property, praise was given to the current administration for the preemptive measures it has taken to lessen the destruction so far.

The West African Ceramics Limited Ajaokuta expressed satisfaction with the supportive environment that has allowed the organization to operate seamlessly, making the ease of doing business in the State worthwhile. The company pledged to continue to be a valuable partner in the socioeconomic development of the State by assisting the current administration and people of the State.

The WACL expressed its appreciation for the administration’s efforts to make the state safe for its citizens, investments, and investments, and it promised to support the state’s expansion and development.

The modest donations, which include rice, cooking oil, salt MasterChef, washing soap, mats, Maggie Cubes, mosquito nets, sleeping mats, and blankets, are intended to provide some palliative assistance for those affected in the State.
