The Sokoto State Peoples Redemption Party’s whole party structure has disintegrated into the state’s All Progressives Congress with only a few months until the general elections in 2023.

The whole party apparatus, led by Sa’idu Muhammad Gumburawa, its candidate for governor, has switched to the APC.

All three of the party’s senatorial candidates for the state, all the candidates for the House of Representatives and state assemblies, as well as all party representatives in state and municipal governments are among the defectors.

Sa’idu Muhammad Gumburawa, the party’s head and the state’s gubernatorial flagbearer, informed Senator Aliyu Wamakko, the leader of the APC, that the group had decided to leave the former party in order to do their lot to help the APC win the state’s elections in 2023.

He continued by saying that given the circumstances in which the state’s citizens found themselves under the PDP-led administration, they had turned to the APC in order to join forces with its leaders and win the elections handily so that the state could regain its former glory, as it had under the rule of former governor Aliyu Wamakko.

Gumburawa was referred to as a friend and coworker in progress by Wamakko in his speech as he welcomed the defectors into the APC.

He expressed joy at joining the APC and characterized it as the party of those who support the development of Sokoto State.

He told Gumburawa that APC will collaborate closely with him and all of his ardent followers in order to maintain a cordial working environment at all times.

In addition, Gumburawa and his allies were congratulated for joining the APC by the state’s APC governorship candidate, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, who also spoke. Sokoto promised Gumburawa that he would be treated equally with the rest of the APC family.

If given the opportunity to lead the state, Ahmad Aliyu promised to lead everyone along the way in order to assure the supply of high-quality healthcare, educational advancement, expanding trade and investment, agricultural improvement, government workers’ welfare, and other developmental aspects.

The APC Senators Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba Dambuwa and Engr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, who represent the Sokoto East and South Senatorial Districts, were present at the mini-event, which was held at the home of APC leader Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina, a federal representative for Kware/Wamakko, and Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, the minister of police affairs, were among the others.
