Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has vehemently denounced Saturday’s kidnapping of train passengers in Edo State.
Nigeria would triumph over the agents of darkness, Tinubu predicted, calling the kidnapping of 31 passengers waiting to board a train to Warri at Igueben Station “another sad episode” in the country’s security woes.
The APC presidential candidate expressed sympathy for the victims who are still being held hostage by the attackers and called on the federal government, the state of Edo, and local authorities to coordinate swift action with the security agencies to secure the release of all the victims.
“I strongly condemn the terrorists’ senseless attack and kidnapping of innocent train passengers on Saturday in Edo State. According to the information at hand, the security agencies are making a valiant effort to save the victims. I call for increased cooperation between the Federal Government, the Edo State Government, and other local authorities to ensure the victims are all rescued as soon as possible.
This incident serves as a somber reminder that the fight against insecurity is still far from over and that there are still some agents of evil out there. But I want to reassure Nigerians that this war will be won. Because of our steadfast determination to destroy the dark forces wherever they manifest, evil will not rule over our nation.
To address all forms of insecurity in our nation and to improve the security situation is one of the reasons I’m running for president. With the help of our Anti-Terrorism Battalion Forces, additional security equipment, and surveillance technology, we have a clear plan to put an end to violent crime and terrorism. As a result, our streets, neighborhoods, and forests will be safer places for socioeconomic activities to flourish.
“I applaud the security agencies’ rescue efforts, which resulted in the capture of some terrorists. Nigeria will triumph.
