JUST IN: UGM BURNS PRIEST TO DEATH IN NIGER

Rev Father Isaac Achi, Priest of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church in Kafin-koro, Paikoro LGA, Niger, was brnt to death by unknown gnmen who invaded his home on Sunday morning, January 15th.

The bandits also burned down the Catholic parish house and injured his colleague, Father Collins. It was learned that after his attackers  were unable to gain access to him due to fortified security, they decided to burn down the building in which the priest was housed.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the tragic incident, saying, “On 15/01/2023 at about 0300hrs, armed bandits invaded the Parish residence of Rev Father Isaac Achi.”

Unfortunately, the bandits reportedly attempted to gain entry into the residence but found it difficult and set the house on fire while the Rev Father was brnt dead.

Father Collins, a colleague of the Rev Father, was also shot in the shoulder while attempting to flee the scene.
