OBI TO THE PEOPLE OF BAUCHI: YOUR CRUDE OIL IS NOT FOR SHARING

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has stated that, if elected, his administration will make sure that the crude oil found in Bauchi State is used wisely.
The oil found in the state would not be for sharing but for development, Obi said yesterday during a campaign rally for the LP in Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The immense agricultural land in the area is the key to unlocking the wealth of the north, which Datti and I possess.

The LP candidate continued by saying that the state’s hide and skin sector would be promoted and made into an export hub.

Obi visited Rilwanu Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, along with his running mate Datti Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman Julius Abure, and other party members.

In October 2019, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited (previously the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation) announced the finding of crude oil, gas, and condensate in the Kolmani River region near the settlement that marks the border between the states of Bauchi and Gombe.

President Muhammadu Buhari signaled the start of the nation’s first crude oil project in November 2022 in the northeast.
