The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, referred to the governorship tribunal’s decision as “a miscarriage of justice” and vowed to appeal the decision.
In a statement following the Tribunal’s decision, Governor Adeleke criticized the Tribunal’s decision to rule in favor of Mr. Oyetola on the overvoting issue, calling it “an unreasonable interpretation against the will of majority voters.”

Governor Adeleke promised to fight the decision at the Court of Appeal while pleading with his supporters to maintain composure. He insisted he was still the legitimate victor of the July 16 election.
“I urge everyone to maintain their composure. We will challenge the ruling, and we are confident that justice will be served. Let our people know that we will do all in our power to uphold this well praised mandate, said Governor Adeleke.
