The Indigenous People of Biafra’s Directorate of State expressed concern about the information it has learned about Nnamdi Kanu’s current health.
Kanu was still being held in the Department of State Service’s custody, according to the pro-Biafran group, “despite the fact that the Court of Appeal had discharged and acquitted him of all the trumped up charges brought against him by the Federal Government,” despite his deteriorating health, they claimed.
Chika Edoziem, the director of state for IPOB, accused the DSS in a statement on Saturday of following orders from the Federal Government in tandem with some Igbo-derived politicians.
“We desire to warn the international community of the fact that the DSS has intentionally increased its torture of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whom they are still unlawfully detaining despite the order of a court of competent jurisdiction for his immediate and unconditional release,” the statement stated.
“We have reliable information that the DSS met to discuss ways to take down Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, acting as instructed by the Federal Government and working with several politicians of Igbo descent.
It was advised during this discussion that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu be poisoned and allowed to pass away gradually.
“Given the current state of Kanu’s health, the DSS’s repeated refusal to let him see a doctor, the fact that they have continued to give him subpar medication for his known conditions, and the denial of decent nutrition, it is clearly clear what the DSS’s and their allies’ intentions are.
Remember that certain collaborators, despite claiming to be counting down to the proclamation of Biafra, are actually attempting to meet the deadline they set for the poison given to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to have an irreparable effect on him.
“By accelerating the hearing of the appeal that has been placed before it, the Nigerian judiciary must demonstrate that it is not actively involved in this evil scheme to assassinate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“We want to make it clear to the UN, AU, EU, UNHRC, USA, UK, Canada, Ohaneze, PANDEF, Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Arewa Consultative Forum, Christian Association of Nigeria, Governors of the South East and South South Regions, and others that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must not suffer any harm while in the DSS’s custody or soon after his release.
If the Federal Government continues on its chosen course of illegality and the planned murder of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leadership of IPOB must not be held responsible for the serious consequences that would result.
“Self determination is a right of Indigenous peoples that is widely recognized, and we the Biafran people will not be coerced into giving up or abandoning this right.”
